Tree services in Woodridge: what we see and what we do
Woodridge is one of Logan's original suburbs, built in the 1960s and 70s around the train station, Station Road and Wembley Road, with Logan Central next door. Blocks are a decent size and many carry the same generation of trees: big mango trees, cocos palms, umbrella trees, poincianas and camphor laurels, with tall blue gums and ironbarks along the older boundaries. Powerlines run along every street and there are plenty of trees grown into them.
Around Woodridge the crew removes ageing palms and pest trees, reduces big mangoes and poincianas over roofs, and clears trees away from service lines. Logan City Council's approval process applies inside its Biodiversity Areas and Waterway Corridors overlays, and most Woodridge lots under 5,000 square metres sit outside them and are generally exempt, but we confirm your address on the council mapping before quoting (Logan City Council). Anything near the wires is planned to Energex's three-metre exclusion zone.
Things to watch on Woodridge properties
- Trees grown into the street wires on 1960s and 70s blocks
- Heavy mango and poinciana limbs over roofs and carports
- Cocos palm fruit and bats over driveways and clotheslines

Logan City Council rules for Woodridge trees
Logan protects vegetation through the Biodiversity Areas Overlay and the Waterway Corridors and Wetlands Overlay of the Logan Planning Scheme 2015. Outside those mapped areas, clearing on a lot under 5,000m² is generally exempt, as is a bushfire protection zone within 10 metres of a dwelling, garden and lawn maintenance, and removal of cadaghi and umbrella trees. Inside a Biodiversity Area, a koala corridor or a waterway corridor you need an operational works approval. Council has an online vegetation clearing decision tool and we run your address through the mapping before quoting.
