Tree services in Eight Mile Plains: what we see and what we do
Eight Mile Plains is boxed in by the Pacific and Gateway motorways, and most of the housing is 1980s and 90s brick on standard blocks, with a run of newer townhouses near the Warrigal Road end. The estates were built around the Bulimba Creek corridor, so ironbarks and blue gums still stand along the creek and in the reserves, while the yards themselves are full of golden canes, cocos palms and lilly pilly hedges planted when the houses were new.
The crew is 25 minutes away via Miles Platting Road. Typical Eight Mile Plains jobs are overgrown palms and hedges, leopard tree reductions and gums leaning over fences from the reserve side. Trees may be protected under Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003, particularly in the creek corridor, though a trunk within 3 metres of the dwelling or under 30 centimetres diameter is generally exempt, and we check the mapping before quoting (council fact sheet).

Brisbane City Council rules for Eight Mile Plains trees
Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003 protects vegetation in mapped bushland, waterway corridors, significant native and urban vegetation and under Vegetation Protection Orders, including on private land. Council's fact sheet sets out the exemptions that cover most suburban jobs: a tree whose whole trunk is within 3 metres of a lawfully built, occupied dwelling (6 metres on lots over 4,000m²), garden trees under 30cm trunk diameter at 1.4 metres, fence-line trees under 20cm, pruning of up to 20 per cent of live foliage in 12 months, dead trees, and trees showing an immediate hazard. Permit applications are free. None of the exemptions apply to significant landscape trees, and we check the mapping for your address as part of the quote.
