What changes the price of tree removal

Access and targets matter more than height. A 12 metre gum in an open paddock can be felled in one piece in an hour. The same gum between a Queenslander and a pool has to be climbed and lowered in sections, and takes most of a day. Published Brisbane guides put medium trees at $800 to $2,500 and large trees at $2,000 to $5,500 for that reason: the spread is the access.

Powerlines add a shutdown or an authorised crew. Energex's 3 metre exclusion zone applies to anyone not authorised for line work. A tree inside it may need a planned outage, which can add $5,000 or more on the guides' figures, or a different approach.

Multiples are cheaper each. Once the truck and chipper are on site, the second and third tree cost less. Stump grinding on the same visit gets 15 to 30 per cent off according to the guides we use.

Green waste is included with us. Some quotes leave the timber on the verge. Ours include chipping and removal, so compare like with like.

Tree removal cost in Brisbane: common questions

Why is the calculator a range and not a price?

Because the same tree can be a two-hour job in an open yard and a full-day dismantle between a house and a pool. The range covers the spread in published Brisbane guides; the fixed price comes after we have seen the access, the targets and the powerlines.

Is the quote really free?

Yes. We look at the tree, check the council mapping for your address and give you a written fixed price. There is no charge and no obligation.

Does the price include taking the wood away?

Ours does. Chipping, removal and clean-up are included in every Dan's Tree Experts quote. Some cheaper quotes leave the timber on the verge, so compare like with like.

Why does tree removal cost more near powerlines?

Energex's 3 metre exclusion zone means a tree inside it needs an authorised crew or a planned outage. Published guides put a power shutdown at $5,000 or more. Trees near the service line to the house can often be worked with care; we identify which at the quote.
