Tree Removal Northern Gold Coast

The northern Gold Coast is 30 to 45 minutes down the M1 from us. New estates full of overgrown cocos palms, acreage at Ormeau and Yatala, and canal homes at Helensvale.

Local knowledge

Tree work in Northern Gold Coast

Coomera, Upper Coomera and Pimpama grew from paddocks into some of the fastest-growing suburbs in Australia in twenty years, and the landscaping went in at the same time. Cocos palms, golden canes and foxtail palms that looked good beside a new house in 2008 are now 10 to 15 metres tall, dropping fruit on driveways and pushing on fences. Ormeau and Yatala still have acreage and rural blocks with big gums, and Helensvale's canal and golf-course homes have mature trees on tight blocks.

We come down the M1 for palm removals, pruning and stump grinding most weeks, usually grouping a few jobs in the one run so the travel is covered. Everything is quoted in writing and the chipper comes on the truck.

City of Gold Coast tree removal rules

The City of Gold Coast treats any tree over 4 metres tall or with a trunk circumference over 40cm at 1.3 metres as assessable vegetation, along with mapped native and remnant vegetation. Removal is accepted development without an application in a number of situations, including near boundaries and buildings (the distance depends on lot size), within 1.5 metres of a pool fence, pest species, bushfire hazard around a dwelling and trees confirmed dangerous by a council arborist; otherwise an operational works application is needed. We check the situation for your lot before we quote.

FAQ

Tree removal in Northern Gold Coast: common questions

Do you cover all of Northern Gold Coast?

Yes. We are based at Sheldon and work across the whole of Northern Gold Coast, from Coomera to Upper Coomera. Each suburb has its own page above with local detail. If yours is not listed, ask; we probably still cover it.

Do I need a permit from City of Gold Coast to remove a tree?

Sometimes. The City of Gold Coast treats any tree over 4 metres tall or with a trunk circumference over 40cm at 1.3 metres as assessable vegetation, along with mapped native and remnant vegetation. The rest depends on the size of the tree, how close it is to the house and whether the property is in a mapped overlay. We check the mapping for your address as part of every quote and use the council's own published exemptions.

How much does tree removal cost in Gold Coast North?

Published Brisbane guides put small trees at $300 to $900, medium trees at $800 to $2,500 and large trees over houses at $2,000 to $5,500, with palms usually $200 to $600 and stumps $80 to $400. Access and what is under the tree move the price more than height. Try the calculator for a range, then get a fixed written quote.

How quickly can you come out?

For quotes, usually within a day or two, and we can often give a rough figure from photos the same day. For jobs, typically within one to two weeks, faster for anything dangerous. After a storm, trees on houses and blocked driveways in Gold Coast North come first.
