Tree services in Chandler: what we see and what we do
Chandler is acreage country, ten minutes from our Sheldon yard, with hectare-plus lots off Old Cleveland Road and Burbank Road and the Sleeman Sports Complex in the middle. The blocks are mostly spotted gum, ironbark and blue gum forest with hoop pines and silky oaks planted around the houses, and the bushland joins the Brisbane Koala Bushlands to the south. Long driveways, sheds, dams and tree lines along the boundaries are standard.
Chandler took 14-centimetre hail in the November 2025 storms, and hail-shredded crowns and split limbs are a common reason for a call-out here. Our usual work is storm cleanup, hazard gum removal and bushfire clearance. Trees may be protected under Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003, though on lots over 4,000 square metres a trunk within 6 metres of the house, or any tree under 30 centimetres diameter, is generally exempt, and we check the mapping during the quote (council fact sheet).
Things to watch on Chandler properties
- Hail-damaged crowns and split trunks left over from the November 2025 storms
- Koala food trees in the bushland joining Burbank
- Dead gums and termite-affected stumps near sheds and fences

Brisbane City Council rules for Chandler trees
Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003 protects vegetation in mapped bushland, waterway corridors, significant native and urban vegetation and under Vegetation Protection Orders, including on private land. Council's fact sheet sets out the exemptions that cover most suburban jobs: a tree whose whole trunk is within 3 metres of a lawfully built, occupied dwelling (6 metres on lots over 4,000m²), garden trees under 30cm trunk diameter at 1.4 metres, fence-line trees under 20cm, pruning of up to 20 per cent of live foliage in 12 months, dead trees, and trees showing an immediate hazard. Permit applications are free. None of the exemptions apply to significant landscape trees, and we check the mapping for your address as part of the quote.
