Tree services in Aspley: what we see and what we do
Aspley grew through the 1960s and 70s along Gympie Road, with brick and timber homes on standard blocks and the Cabbage Tree Creek corridor winding along the northern edge. Blue gums and paperbarks stand along the creek and in the parks, and the yards have cocos palms, umbrella trees, jacarandas and camphor laurels that went in when the houses were new. Powerlines run down every street, and plenty of canopies have grown up through them.
We are about 50 minutes from Aspley, so it is usually part of a north-side run. Typical jobs are cocos palm and umbrella tree removals, gums over roofs on the creek side and camphor laurels that have taken over a yard. Trees may be protected under Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003, particularly in the creek corridor, though a trunk within 3 metres of the house or under 30 centimetres diameter is generally exempt, and we check the mapping when we quote (council fact sheet).

Brisbane City Council rules for Aspley trees
Most of the northside is Brisbane City Council, where the Natural Assets Local Law 2003 applies and the council fact sheet exempts trees within 3 metres of the house, trees under 30cm trunk diameter, dead and hazardous trees, and pruning of up to 20 per cent of foliage a year. Albany Creek, Strathpine, North Lakes and everything north of the Pine River is the City of Moreton Bay, which protects habitat trees and koala habitat through its planning scheme overlays and says you may need approval before clearing. We check whichever mapping applies to your address before quoting.
