Tree services in Yatala: what we see and what we do
Yatala sits on the Logan and Gold Coast border along the Pacific Motorway, best known for the industrial estate and the pie shop. Away from the factories it is rural-residential acreage and older farm blocks toward the Albert River and Stapylton, with spotted gums, ironbarks, blue gums and hoop pines along boundaries and creek lines, and old mangoes, macadamias and camphor laurels around the houses. Long driveways and sheds are the norm, and bushfire fuel builds up along tree lines.
Yatala is half an hour from Sheldon and the crew covers both its acreage and its commercial sites: hazardous gum removal, deadwooding over sheds, fence-line clearing, and clearing trees off car parks and factory boundaries. Yatala falls under the City of Gold Coast, which treats trees over 4 metres tall or 40 centimetres in circumference as assessable vegetation, so removal may need an application and we check that before quoting (City of Gold Coast). Timber can stay on site as firewood.
Things to watch on Yatala properties
- Dead-crowned gums along boundaries and over sheds on acreage blocks
- Camphor laurels around old homesteads reaching 20 metres
- Trees over car parks and fences on industrial estate sites

City of Gold Coast rules for Yatala trees
The City of Gold Coast treats any tree over 4 metres tall or with a trunk circumference over 40cm at 1.3 metres as assessable vegetation, along with mapped native and remnant vegetation. Removal is accepted development without an application in a number of situations, including near boundaries and buildings (the distance depends on lot size), within 1.5 metres of a pool fence, pest species, bushfire hazard around a dwelling and trees confirmed dangerous by a council arborist; otherwise an operational works application is needed. We check the situation for your lot before we quote.
