Tree services in Victoria Point: what we see and what we do
Victoria Point runs from the bayside at Thompson's Beach and Point Halloran back to the estates built through the 1990s and 2000s along Cleveland-Redland Bay Road. The newer streets are planted with golden canes, Alexandra palms and lilly pilly hedges that are now outgrowing their spots, while older blocks near the water and the Point Halloran conservation area still hold big gums, paperbarks and she-oaks. Eprapah Creek and its koala corridor run along the southern edge.
Around here we spend a lot of time removing palms that have outgrown small yards, trimming hedges back into shape, and taking dead or storm-damaged gums off older blocks. Trees in Victoria Point may fall under the Redland City Plan's environmental or waterway overlays, or Local Law No. 6, so checking the mapping is part of the free quote (council tree protection page). For anything near the street wires we work to the Energex exclusion zones.

Redland City Council rules for Victoria Point trees
Trees on private land in Redland City can be protected through environmental overlays of the Redland City Plan or Local Law No. 6 (Protection of Vegetation). In urban zones, Council's vegetation clearing fact sheet allows clearing of up to 500m² without approval outside mapped areas, and Council confirmed in November 2025 that routine trimming along fence lines and near buildings is not regulated under the City Plan. Koala habitat is the big one here: the Redlands Coast Koala Conservation Action Plan aims for no net loss of native vegetation, and blue gums, tallowwoods, grey gums and scribbly gums are the trees most likely to be mapped. We check the overlay for your address before we quote.
