Tree services in Redland Bay: what we see and what we do
Redland Bay is the southern end of the Redlands, where the Weinam Creek ferry terminal and the older bayside streets meet a wave of new estates spreading south and west. Behind them is rural-residential country: old cane and farm blocks with big blue gums, hoop pines and mango trees, and creek lines along Serpentine Creek. Storms coming across the bay from the islands hit hard here, and ex-Cyclone Alfred in March 2025 left plenty of trees down across the suburb.
Dan's crew handles everything from clearing a fence line on an acreage block to removing a single cocos palm in a new estate. Redland City Council may protect trees on private land through City Plan overlays or Local Law No. 6, and rural blocks are more likely to carry an environmental or koala overlay, so we check before quoting (Redland City Council). Emergency storm work runs seven days, and we make a dangerous tree safe first and sort the rest after.
Things to watch on Redland Bay properties
- Big blue gums and hoop pines on old farm blocks near the house
- Storm and cyclone damage from weather crossing the bay
- New-estate palms and lilly pillies planted too close to fences

Redland City Council rules for Redland Bay trees
Trees on private land in Redland City can be protected through environmental overlays of the Redland City Plan or Local Law No. 6 (Protection of Vegetation). In urban zones, Council's vegetation clearing fact sheet allows clearing of up to 500m² without approval outside mapped areas, and Council confirmed in November 2025 that routine trimming along fence lines and near buildings is not regulated under the City Plan. Koala habitat is the big one here: the Redlands Coast Koala Conservation Action Plan aims for no net loss of native vegetation, and blue gums, tallowwoods, grey gums and scribbly gums are the trees most likely to be mapped. We check the overlay for your address before we quote.
