Tree services in Upper Mount Gravatt: what we see and what we do
Upper Mount Gravatt wraps around the Garden City shopping centre and the Mount Gravatt Outlook Reserve, with 1960s and 70s homes on standard blocks and a growing number of unit and townhouse sites near the busway. The reserve brings blue gums and ironbarks down to the back fences on the northern side, while the gardens have the usual mix of jacarandas, mangoes, camphor laurels and cocos palms from when the houses were built. Mimosa Creek runs along the southern boundary.
The crew is 25 minutes away and handles everything from single palms in unit courtyards to full gum dismantles behind older homes. Trees may be protected under Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003, in particular on the reserve and creek edges, though a trunk within 3 metres of the house or under 30 centimetres diameter is generally exempt, and we check the mapping for your address before quoting (council fact sheet). Pruning is done to AS 4373-2007.

Brisbane City Council rules for Upper Mount Gravatt trees
Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003 protects vegetation in mapped bushland, waterway corridors, significant native and urban vegetation and under Vegetation Protection Orders, including on private land. Council's fact sheet sets out the exemptions that cover most suburban jobs: a tree whose whole trunk is within 3 metres of a lawfully built, occupied dwelling (6 metres on lots over 4,000m²), garden trees under 30cm trunk diameter at 1.4 metres, fence-line trees under 20cm, pruning of up to 20 per cent of live foliage in 12 months, dead trees, and trees showing an immediate hazard. Permit applications are free. None of the exemptions apply to significant landscape trees, and we check the mapping for your address as part of the quote.
