Tree services in Kingston: what we see and what we do
Kingston is an older Logan suburb built through the 1970s and 80s around the train station, Kingston Road and the old Butter Factory. Blocks are a fair size and the trees are mature: cocos palms, umbrella trees, mango trees and leopard trees in the gardens, with camphor laurels and Chinese elms where nobody pulled the seedlings out, and blue gums and paperbarks toward Scrubby Creek and the parks. Powerlines follow most streets and many houses have old terracotta drains.
Dan's crew is a half-hour run from Kingston and handles the usual older-suburb list: palm and umbrella tree removals, big mango reductions, weed tree removals and stump grinding. Logan City Council regulates clearing inside its Biodiversity Areas and Waterway Corridors overlays, which here follow the creek and park corridors, while lots elsewhere under 5,000 square metres are generally exempt; we confirm your address on the mapping before quoting (Logan City Council). We prune to AS 4373-2007, not lop.
Things to watch on Kingston properties
- Umbrella tree roots in old terracotta sewer and stormwater lines
- Chinese elm and camphor laurel seedlings grown into 15 metre trees
- Gum limbs over the street wires on 1970s blocks

Logan City Council rules for Kingston trees
Logan protects vegetation through the Biodiversity Areas Overlay and the Waterway Corridors and Wetlands Overlay of the Logan Planning Scheme 2015. Outside those mapped areas, clearing on a lot under 5,000m² is generally exempt, as is a bushfire protection zone within 10 metres of a dwelling, garden and lawn maintenance, and removal of cadaghi and umbrella trees. Inside a Biodiversity Area, a koala corridor or a waterway corridor you need an operational works approval. Council has an online vegetation clearing decision tool and we run your address through the mapping before quoting.
