Tree services in Underwood: what we see and what we do
Underwood sits between Springwood and Eight Mile Plains, built out through the 1980s and 90s along Logan Road and Compton Road. Blocks are a standard suburban size and the gardens are typical of the era: cocos palms, golden canes, umbrella trees, leopard trees and mango trees, with gums retained along the back fences of the older streets. Underwood Park and its lakes are the main green space, and powerlines run along most streets.
Underwood work for the crew is mostly palm removals, umbrella tree removal before roots reach the pipes, and pruning gums and mangoes off roofs and wires. Logan City Council's clearing rules only bite inside the Biodiversity Areas and Waterway Corridors overlays, and most Underwood lots under 5,000 square metres are outside them, but we confirm your address on the council mapping before we quote (Logan City Council). Green waste is chipped on site and the mulch is yours if you want it.
Things to watch on Underwood properties
- Cocos palms shedding fruit onto driveways and into pool filters
- Umbrella trees planted beside sewer and stormwater lines
- Mango limbs over carports and neighbours' fences

Logan City Council rules for Underwood trees
Logan protects vegetation through the Biodiversity Areas Overlay and the Waterway Corridors and Wetlands Overlay of the Logan Planning Scheme 2015. Outside those mapped areas, clearing on a lot under 5,000m² is generally exempt, as is a bushfire protection zone within 10 metres of a dwelling, garden and lawn maintenance, and removal of cadaghi and umbrella trees. Inside a Biodiversity Area, a koala corridor or a waterway corridor you need an operational works approval. Council has an online vegetation clearing decision tool and we run your address through the mapping before quoting.
