Tree services in Strathpine: what we see and what we do
Strathpine is the old centre of the Pine Rivers area, now part of the City of Moreton Bay, with 1970s and 80s homes on standard blocks between Gympie Road and the South Pine River. Blue gums and paperbarks line the river and Four Mile Creek, and the yards have cocos palms, umbrella trees, jacarandas and camphor laurels from the original landscaping. Newer townhouses near the station have smaller gardens with palms and hedges pushed against fences.
Strathpine is about an hour from our Sheldon yard, so we come for planned work rather than quick call-outs: gum dismantles, palm and umbrella tree removals and camphor laurels. Because this is Moreton Bay, the council may require approval to clear native vegetation, and trees in mapped koala habitat generally cannot be cleared or heavily pruned without it, so we check the mapping for your block as part of the quote (Moreton Bay clearing page).
Things to watch on Strathpine properties
- Blue gums and paperbarks along the South Pine River that may sit in mapped habitat
- Umbrella trees planted in the 70s now blocking pipes
- Cocos palms grown into the street wires on older blocks

City of Moreton Bay rules for Strathpine trees
Most of the northside is Brisbane City Council, where the Natural Assets Local Law 2003 applies and the council fact sheet exempts trees within 3 metres of the house, trees under 30cm trunk diameter, dead and hazardous trees, and pruning of up to 20 per cent of foliage a year. Albany Creek, Strathpine, North Lakes and everything north of the Pine River is the City of Moreton Bay, which protects habitat trees and koala habitat through its planning scheme overlays and says you may need approval before clearing. We check whichever mapping applies to your address before quoting.
