Tree services in Waterford: what we see and what we do
Waterford follows the Logan River south of Loganlea, a mix of older acreage and river-flat blocks with newer estates filling in along Waterford-Tamborine Road. Older properties hold big river gums, blue gums and paperbarks, with old mangoes and macadamias near the houses, while the new estates start with young Alexandra palms, tuckeroos and lilly pilly hedges. The river floods, and trees on the flats can lean or fall once the ground is saturated.
The crew handles Waterford's older blocks for hazardous gum removal, deadwooding and fence-line clearing, and its new estates for palm and hedge work. Logan City Council regulates clearing inside its Waterway Corridors and Biodiversity Areas overlays, which follow the river closely here, so river-side lots are checked on the mapping before we quote (Logan City Council). After flooding we prioritise trees leaning toward houses and sheds, and work seven days to get through them.
Things to watch on Waterford properties
- River gums and paperbarks on flood-prone flats with soft root plates
- Old mango and macadamia limbs over sheds on original blocks
- Young estate palms planted hard against fences and slabs

Logan City Council rules for Waterford trees
Logan protects vegetation through the Biodiversity Areas Overlay and the Waterway Corridors and Wetlands Overlay of the Logan Planning Scheme 2015. Outside those mapped areas, clearing on a lot under 5,000m² is generally exempt, as is a bushfire protection zone within 10 metres of a dwelling, garden and lawn maintenance, and removal of cadaghi and umbrella trees. Inside a Biodiversity Area, a koala corridor or a waterway corridor you need an operational works approval. Council has an online vegetation clearing decision tool and we run your address through the mapping before quoting.
