Tree services in Jimboomba: what we see and what we do
Jimboomba is the acreage heartland of Logan's south, strung along the Mount Lindesay Highway with the Logan River on its eastern side. Blocks are typically a hectare or more, cleared for horses and sheds but with stands of spotted gum, ironbark, blue gum and she-oak left along boundaries and creek lines, and old mangoes and macadamias around the houses. Bushfire is the main risk here, and summer storms take out paddock trees with dead crowns.
Jimboomba is our furthest regular run at about 45 minutes, so we group work into full days: multiple gum removals, deadwooding over houses and sheds, fence-line clearing and bushfire buffers. With most lots over 5,000 square metres, Logan City Council's small-lot exemption does not apply, and trees inside the Biodiversity Areas or Waterway Corridors overlays may need approval, so we check your mapping before we quote (Logan City Council). Timber and mulch stay on site if you want them.
Things to watch on Jimboomba properties
- Dead-crowned paddock gums over fences, stock and sheds
- Bushfire fuel loads along boundaries before the July to December season
- Creek-line trees inside waterway overlay mapping

Logan City Council rules for Jimboomba trees
Logan protects vegetation through the Biodiversity Areas Overlay and the Waterway Corridors and Wetlands Overlay of the Logan Planning Scheme 2015. Outside those mapped areas, clearing on a lot under 5,000m² is generally exempt, as is a bushfire protection zone within 10 metres of a dwelling, garden and lawn maintenance, and removal of cadaghi and umbrella trees. Inside a Biodiversity Area, a koala corridor or a waterway corridor you need an operational works approval. Council has an online vegetation clearing decision tool and we run your address through the mapping before quoting.
