Tree services in Everton Park: what we see and what we do
Everton Park climbs the hills north of Kedron Brook, with 1960s and 70s homes on standard blocks that step up steep streets off South Pine Road and Stafford Road. The gardens hold jacarandas, mangoes and camphor laurels from the original planting, cocos palms added later, and Chinese elms that seeded along fence lines. Spotted gums stand in the Teralba Park side and on the ridges, and the brook corridor at the bottom carries paperbarks and gums.
Everton Park is about 50 minutes from our yard. Steep blocks mean most trees are climbed and lowered by rope, and the common jobs are camphor laurel and Chinese elm removals, mango reductions and palm work. Trees may be protected under Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003, though a trunk within 3 metres of the house or under 30 centimetres diameter is generally exempt, and we check the mapping before we quote (council fact sheet). Pruning is to AS 4373-2007.
Things to watch on Everton Park properties

- Mango limbs over carports and sheds
- Spotted gums on the ridges dropping limbs in hot weather

Brisbane City Council rules for Everton Park trees
Most of the northside is Brisbane City Council, where the Natural Assets Local Law 2003 applies and the council fact sheet exempts trees within 3 metres of the house, trees under 30cm trunk diameter, dead and hazardous trees, and pruning of up to 20 per cent of foliage a year. Albany Creek, Strathpine, North Lakes and everything north of the Pine River is the City of Moreton Bay, which protects habitat trees and koala habitat through its planning scheme overlays and says you may need approval before clearing. We check whichever mapping applies to your address before quoting.
