Tree services in Ashgrove: what we see and what we do
Ashgrove is one of Brisbane's leafiest suburbs, with Queenslanders and 1930s bungalows on standard blocks along Enoggera Creek and up the slopes towards Mount Coot-tha. Jacarandas, poincianas and hoop pines line the older streets, camphor laurels and figs have taken over corners of many yards, and Chinese elms seed in from the creek. Blocks on the western side back onto bushland, and the creek floods in big rain, which undercuts trees along the banks.
Ashgrove is around 45 minutes from Sheldon. The crew does camphor laurel and fig dismantles on tight blocks, poinciana and jacaranda reductions and hoop pine deadwooding. Trees may be protected under Brisbane City Council's Natural Assets Local Law 2003, and Ashgrove has plenty of significant trees and creek corridor mapping, though a trunk within 3 metres of the house or under 30 centimetres diameter is generally exempt, and we check the mapping when we quote (council fact sheet).

Brisbane City Council rules for Ashgrove trees
Most of the northside is Brisbane City Council, where the Natural Assets Local Law 2003 applies and the council fact sheet exempts trees within 3 metres of the house, trees under 30cm trunk diameter, dead and hazardous trees, and pruning of up to 20 per cent of foliage a year. Albany Creek, Strathpine, North Lakes and everything north of the Pine River is the City of Moreton Bay, which protects habitat trees and koala habitat through its planning scheme overlays and says you may need approval before clearing. We check whichever mapping applies to your address before quoting.
